Dom Dwyer was only with Sporting Kansas City from 2012-2017, but remains firmly ensconced as the second best goalscorer in club history in both league play (57 goals in MLS) and overall with 66 goals scored in his tenure.
Only Preki found the back of the net more.
What's even more amazing is that he only played 4 minutes in 2012, and just 15 games in 2017. He scored 50 of his 57 league goals between 2014 and 2016.
Dom led the attack during most of the club’s most successful period, winning the 2013 MLS Cup and 2015 US Open Cup and just missing out on the 2017 US Open Cup after moving to Orlando City.
These white argyle third kits that were introduced in 2015 were an interesting alternative to the original black argyle kits worn in 2013 and 2014. Unfortunately, the team performed pretty poorly in it. According to The Blue Testament, the team was just 5-7-5 in the white argyle for an average of 1.18 points earned per game. That's really saying something given that SKC was perennial playoff contender in 2010's.
Dwyer's argyle match worn shirt shows light signs of wear and is autographed on the back between the numbers.
Dom's shirt was procured from the kitman sale that SKC puts on each Black Friday after Thanksgiving, and features the kitman tag in the neck.
The deal that sent Dom Dwyer to Orlando City midway through the 2017 season came as a shock to supporters and the league. Dwyer was coming off of a 16 goal season and was just 26 years old. Sporting Kansas City scuffled around for a striker for several years after until acquiring Alan Pulido from Chivas.
While his tenure was relatively brief, the Englishman (turned American citizen) delighted the Cauldron and SKC fans for several seasons en route to silverware and the record books.
