Sporting Legend Matt Besler played in 294 matches for Sporting Kansas City during the most successful era in club history.
Besler was a primary contributor to the success serving as captain for several seasons and leading the club to four titles in his time with the club.
Matt grew up in Kansas City and represented the club in five MLS All-Star games, as well as being a starter for the United States Men’s National Team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
He wore this shirt during the abbreviated 2020 season.
It was worn on September 13th, 2020 against Minnesota United in a 1-0 victory.
That match was sadly the last competitive match the club won with Besler in the lineup as he made just two more appearances (both losses) before being injured and missing the rest of the matches in the 2020 season.
Besler was let go by the club following the 2020 season and finished his career with one final season in Austin.
This shirt features the Kick Childhood Cancer patch and is signed by Besler next to the back number.
