Nick Garcia was a steady part of the Kansas City Wizards defense from 2000 through the 2007 season.
The Texas native started 224 league matches for Kansas City in those eight seasons. The centerback was part of two title runs; the 2000 Supporter’s Shield and MLS Cup championship and the 2004 US Open Cup title.
Garcia appeared in 248 games with the Wiz in total, yet scored just one goal for the club after being selected 2nd overall in the 2000 MLS SuperDraft.
Nick Garcia started 29 league matches and the Wizards missed the playoffs in 2006. He also scored the lone goal of his MLS career.
This white long-sleeved secondary shirt was worn during the 2006 season and has a solid amount of visible wear with picks/pulls, stains in the sleeves, front and back.
The front has several of the picks/pulls and also a stain below the KANSAS CITY wordmark and in the armpit area. On the sleeves there is some light staining, as well.
From the hem on the back we can see what looks to be mud spatter stains.
This shirt was also the final season the club wore the US Soccer Foundation sponsorship patches on their sleeves and on the back of the shirts below the numbers.
These plain white secondary kits were worn in 2006 and 2007 and featured no frills whatsoever.
They were the mono-colored sibling of the plain royal blue home kits which were also worn in 2006 and 2007.
While the plain blue kits looked clean, the white kits certainly could have used a little more spice.
As mentioned before, the primary difference between the 2006 and 2007 kits is that the US Soccer Foundation patches on the sleeve and back were no longer present.
