I’ve written before about what an impactful player Graham Zusi has been in a Sporting Kansas City shirt.
He’s not the player he was even two years ago, and certainly not the player he was seven or eight years back, but in 2020 at the age of 34, Zusi still found a moment or two of brilliance.
One of those moments came on September 13th, 2020 against Minnesota United.
Zusi collected the ball and launched a beauty downfield for Johnny Russell, who coolly slotted it home in the 80th minute. Sporting Kansas City went on to win 1-0.
That September game was also a night honoring childhood cancer victims and survivors with MLS’ Kick Childhood Cancer initiative. Every jersey featured the gold KCC ribbon.
Graham Zusi’s match worn jersey features that KCC patch and has pretty light signs of wear.
These Kick Childhood Cancer match worn shirts were auctioned by Sporting Kansas City in October, and I managed to secure this one and Gadi Kinda’s from that auction.
