Dániel Sallói has been a constant presence in the Sporting Kansas City XI since debuting with the club in 2017.
He continues to climb up the club record books in appearances and goals while wearing his familiar #20 and patrolling the left wing for SKC.
The “Hungarian assassin” has outstripped the longevity of all but the staunchest veterans at the club and he’s one of very few players who is a lock to still be on the pitch in Kansas City two or three years from now.
Sallói wore this special One Planet match worn shirt during the first half of the club’s April 22nd, 2023 loss to the New England Revolution.
Showtime Sallói assisted on the club’s lone goal which was scored by Johnny Russell as the club lost 2-1.
The shirt is photomatched to the first half thanks to the way the kits were crafted; each jersey has the same print but it is cut and sewn together in different spots which makes them very easy to photomatch to the player wearing them.
It is signed by the Hungarian winger on the back and was acquired unwashed.
MLS introduced a new “One Planet” design in 2023 to continue their association with adidas and their initiatives to end plastic waste.
In previous seasons the jerseys were labeled as Parley or Primeblue, but this year’s One Planet design was a “hand-drawn kit design pays homage to the ocean floor each jersey aims to protect. Blended into the swirling print, the repeating wordmark "End Plastic Waste" serves as a call to action uniting each club in the collective stewardship of our planet.”
The kits were released in black and teal and Sporting Kansas City wore the black shirt which also features blue and white highlights. The adidas three stripes and sponsorship and namesets were all done in teal on the black jerseys.
They featured one blank sleeve and one sleeve with the MLS patch and Apple TV sponsorship patch.
