Sasha Victorine was an MLS Cup winner who spent the 2005-2007 seasons with the Kansas City Wizards.
He appeared in over 100 matches for the Wizards in both the midfield and at forward, as well as over 100 appearances for the LA Galaxy where he won his MLS league title.
2007 was his last full season in KC, and he wore this specially crested Lamar Hunt shirt on May 12th, 2007 against FC Dallas.
Hunt was the founder of the Kansas City Wizards and also owned FC Dallas and Columbus Crew.
He had passed away in December of 2006 and the jerseys were created to honor him and his legacy in American soccer.
FC Dallas won the match over the Wiz, 2-1. Victorine started and played 83 minutes before being subbed for Kurt Morsink.
This shirt has a few signs of wear with some pulls and bobbles throughout but nothing particularly significant. There are two light stains in the felt “LH” crest on the front. It is signed by Sasha above his number on the front of the kit.
These shirts were auctioned by the team after the match and I’m thrilled to have gotten my hands on one as it’s one the rarest and most unique the club has worn.
