Mike Burns spent two seasons in Kansas City, playing in 24 matches in MLS in 2002.
He had 4 assists in the league for the Wizards in that time.
Burns was an MLS All-Star for the Wiz in 2002 before retiring. The defender also had 75 caps for the USMNT.
This shirt features the 9/11 memorial patch and the huge name/number set that was common for the Wizards at that time.
It has an interesting flaw in that the championship star is below the club crest instead of on top of it. I’m unsure why this is, but perusing some photos it looks like the star was on a bit of an adventure that season. There are photos of it missing, photos of it in it’s normal spot, and photos of it way higher than it’s normal spot.
I have been unable to find any photos of the star being below the crest, however, but I’ll keep digging.
