Eddie Johnson spent two seasons with the Kansas City Wizards after his time with the Dallas Burn/FC Dallas.
The first season with the Wiz was forgettable as Johnson could not find the back of the net.
He scored just 2 goals in 19 appearances in 2006, but the next season put him in sight of his professional goal of playing in Europe.
In 2007, Johnson scored 15 goals in 24 appearances including back-to-back hat tricks. The scoring outburst earned him the 2007 MLS Comeback Player of the Year award, as well as a transfer to Fulham of the Premier League in the offseason.
Eddie Johnson’s shirt features the #7 and the Wizards logo pressed to the left breast with the embroidered silver star above the crest.
The left sleeve and back of the shirt have blue US Soccer Foundation patches.
The jersey was worn in a match on July 8th, 2006 against the Colorado Rapids which ended in a loss.
Eddie Johnson’s career in England never took off quite like he hoped, but that 2007 season in Kansas City was pretty stellar.
He eventually returned to MLS and was a solid piece of the newly arrived Seattle Sounders.
