Claudio Lopez signed with the Wizards as their very first designated player in March 2008. It was a statement of intent for Peter Vermes and the new Wizards ownership which had taken over in 2006.
Lopez was among the initial crop of DPs in Major League Soccer, and he provided a solid return on investment for Kansas City. In 2008, he scored 6 goals and 7 assists in league play for the Wiz.
He spent two seasons in KC and was set to return in 2010 before contract negotiations broke down. He ultimately signed with the Colorado Rapids in 2010 for his final professional season.
Piojo's shirt has a few pulls and bobbles on the front and back.
He has signed it on the back with the inscription "All the best", though the signature and inscription do not show up very well due to the marker used.
This shirt came from Classic Football Shirts with an LOA stating it was from the collection of former Rapids kitman Carlos Garcia.
