Benny Feilhaber was the conductor of the Sporting Kansas City engine in the midfielder throughout the mid 2010’s.
He helped the club to an MLS Cup title in 2013 and US Open Cup titles in 2015 and 2017, all while putting up MVP caliber numbers in both 2015 and 2016.
His 2017 season wasn’t quite as strong (5 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances) but he did assist on the game-winning goal scored by Daniel Salloi in the 2017 US Open Cup Final.
Benny’s Hoops 2.0 shirt has some decent wear with a big mark on the left sleeve. It’s actually reminiscent of a hockey board burn. There also a couple of pulls or pilling in the shirt.
The Hoops 2.0 (it wasn’t called that at the time) debuted after the very successful Hoops 1.0 phased out in 2015 and was a slightly toned-down version of the classic soccer kit motif.
The kit was relatively well received, and ironically served as the basis for a reverse jersey in 2023 and the introduction of the Hoops 4.0 primary kit as Sporting Kansas City officially adopted hoops to their branding moving forward.
