While he was only with the club for one season, Sal Zizzo is a memorable face in SKC lore thanks to his media partnership with Benny Feilhaber and Ike Opara. Their BSI podcast has been a hit in the American soccer landscape.
Zizzo’s sole season under Peter Vermes came right on the heels of Sporting Kansas City winning it’s second MLS Cup.
Sal made 19 appearances in MLS, 2 in US Open Cup, and 3 in CONCACAF Champions League for SKC, scoring 1 goal in CCL.
This particular jersey is unique because it has the CONCACAF Champions League patch on the sleeve.
This shirt was worn by Zizzo in a CCL matchup versus Cruz Azul at home in Kansas City on March 12th, 2014.
SKC won the matchup 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Kevin Ellis.
